Our Story

Founded in 2005, Within Reach Learning Center was created to meet the overwhelming demand for educational services to supplement those being provided in schools.

Within Reach’s mission is simple – helping students to achieve their educational goals. Whether it is helping a student play catch-up, helping advanced students get ahead, improving a student’s confidence, or providing instruction to reinforce what students are learning in school, Within Reach has consistently been there to meet the educational needs of South Orange County’s students and parents.

About the Owner/Instructor– Janelle Caldwell

As an Orange County native, a USC graduate, and after years of experience working with other learning programs, I decided to start my learning center with the aim of contributing to and improving the education of Orange County’s youth. I wanted to create a program where kids could learn and have fun at the same time!

“Be who you needed when you were younger.” This quote is framed at Within Reach, and it emphasizes why we do what we do. It is our motivation. As a child, I struggled through school. No one recognized what was happening, and no one knew how to get me back on track. We tried tutoring and learning centers without success. They were boring, dark, and depressing. They felt like a punishment. This is the very reason I created Within Reach!

Within Reach is bright, inviting, and it is fun. I love to see how each student’s confidence grows and how they become excited about these traditional subjects. I am committed to personalizing instruction to each of my students and partnering with parents, schools, and teachers for an even more successful program.

In my spare time, I run a Kindness Project. I aim to spread good news daily and be a place for all things happy! We do many community events throughout the year to help spread kindness and teach kids the importance of paying it forward.
